If a Turkish dental clinic promises you a "lifetime guarantee" on your veneers, implants, or smile makeover β€” that's not a sign of confidence in their work. It's a red flag.

Lifetime guarantees on medical and dental procedures are prohibited under Turkish Health Service Regulation No. 33075. The regulation explicitly bans healthcare providers from making warranty promises that cannot be clinically substantiated. A dental procedure, by its nature, is subject to wear, biological changes, and patient behaviour that no clinic can control indefinitely.

Why clinics offer them anyway

Because it works. A "lifetime guarantee" sounds reassuring to a patient comparing three clinic quotes. It tips the decision. The clinic knows this. They also know that enforcing a guarantee against a clinic in another country, years after treatment, is practically impossible for most patients.

The guarantee is designed to close the sale β€” not to be honoured.

What a legitimate warranty looks like

Responsible clinics offer time-limited warranties with clear terms: what's covered, what's excluded, what the patient must do (regular check-ups, proper hygiene), and how long the warranty lasts. A 5-year warranty on porcelain veneers with documented terms is reasonable. A "lifetime guarantee" with no written conditions is a marketing slogan, not a contractual obligation.

⚠ If your clinic offered a lifetime guarantee: ask yourself what else they're willing to promise just to get your deposit. A clinic that breaks one regulation to win your business may not be rigorous about others β€” like informed consent, material specifications, or treatment documentation.

What to do

Ask for the warranty terms in writing. Ask for the specific duration. Ask what's excluded. If the clinic can't produce a written warranty document with clear terms β€” and instead relies on a verbal "lifetime guarantee" β€” treat that as the red flag it is.
